Victim Assessment
These child victims of rape are children who are referred to Alpha by the courts to determine if they had in fact been raped.
This includes identifying who who the perpetrator is and whether the child can testify in a court of law or whether intermediary services needs to happen with the children.
Information is gathered through non-leading play therapy techniques.

These programmes are for youth offenders and children who are in conflict with the law.
-
Offences may vary from petty crime to more serious and violent crimes. The offenders are usually first time offenders who show potential to change.
-
When children are referred to Alpha by the courts, they are assessed according to the problems presented and an individual treatment programme is then decided on for each child.
-
The Child Empowerment Programme (YEP) offered at Alpha can vary from 4 weeks to a 12 week – (approximately 3 months) programme consisting of workshops, therapy and skills development.
-
It covers topics such as: conflict and anger management, self worth and peer pressure, communication and parent-child relationships.
-
During this time the children can also perform community service for a number of hours, which is voluntary.
-
Children are also referred by the Education Department, Schools Welfare Organizations and in some cases by the parents themselves, to attend a Child Diversion Programme,
